ABOUT OUR SCHOOL
Philosophy & Mission Statement
Philosophy: The Victor Valley Seventh-day Adventist School is operated by the Seventh-day Adventist Church to provide a spiritually oriented education for children. A belief in the existence of the Creator God is fundamental in the philosophy of Seventh-day Adventist schools. We respect His divine authority and recognize His intervention in human affairs. We believe that true education develops the spiritual, mental, and physical powers of each student; preparing them for the joy of service in this life and for the higher joy of service in the life to come. To achieve this goal, we encourage each student to:
develop a personal relationship with God and his fellow men as stated in Matthew 2:37-39
master the basic academic skills
value labor, physical and mental, as the blessing God intended
cultivate physical fitness, mental ability, and moral purity as the blessing God intended.
Mission Statement: The Victor Valley Seventh-day Adventist School family exists to show children Jesus, nurture their love for Him and others, teach them to think, and empower them to serve.
Our aim is to make of our students disciples of Jesus Christ who live out His character of love and grace, and to educate them to excel scholastically, physically, and spiritually. Our prayer is that our alumni be so filled with the Holy Spirit they will profoundly change the world around them.
Discovery and Learning
Victor Valley Seventh-day Adventist School (VVSDA) was established in 1943 in Victorville, CA. At Victor Valley Seventh-day Adventist School (VVSDA), we are committed to providing quality education in a Christ filled environment. We promote learning, growth, development and fun. We empower our students to ask insightful questions, explore educational boundaries, and confront conventional ways of thinking. It has provided its community with excellent education for almost eighty years. VVSDA aims to provide a course of study that is academically challenging, yet also inspires a love of learning. The school offers a curriculum that strives to develop reflective, questioning, exploratory, and knowledgeable students. A variety of teaching techniques and strategies are used to cultivate well-rounded individuals. VVSDA has incorporated a curriculum with a strong emphasis in the areas of Character Building, Biblical Studies, Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math, Exercise, and Health. The educational program of VVSDA gives primary emphasis to character building and to the spiritual foundation of the life of its children and youth. Moreover, it strives to make provisions for the acquisition and interpretation of knowledge, which is appropriate from the secular and religious sources for mental, social, vocational, and physical development. VVSDA students are educated to become practicing Christians who are aware of the needs of their neighbors, just like Jesus asked of us. VVSDA provides each student with the opportunity to discover and develop their talents for the purpose of serving others in a society often devoted to personal interest.
STUDENT LIFE AT VVSDA
Here at VVSDA, we believe in creating a well-rounded student. Students at VVSDA will be able to grow in Christ, strive for academic excellence, and achieve lasting friendships. Our students know that they are expected to achieve quality over quantity. Quality in life in and out of school is our main focus.
